Back to Basics

It’s a new year, and it’s the perfect time to check in with your health. Looking for simple, foundational ways to feel better in your body and support your overall wellness? Look no further. Here are my top 6 tips for getting back to—and maintaining—good health:

Move Your Body
Daily movement is so important for our mental health, physical strength, and the function of all our body systems. (Fun fact: sweating is one of our body’s natural detox methods!) Start small and work your way up to 30 minutes of purposeful movement each day.

Be Mindful
Be present. Practice gratitude. This can be as simple as silently listing a few things you’re thankful for, or you can write them in a journal. Protect your mental space by limiting your screen time and curating the content you consume. Look for the good—it’s there!

Hydrate
Water matters. Aim to drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day. So, if you weigh 150 lbs, try to get in 75 oz of water daily. Your body and brain will thank you.

Eat Whole Foods
Choose foods that are close to how they came from the earth. Stick to the perimeter of the grocery store—where the produce, meats, and dairy usually are—and limit packaged/processed foods. A good rule of thumb: 80% real, whole food; 20% fun.

Sleep
Sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s essential. Your body heals and regenerates while you rest. Make sleep a top priority, even if that means leaving the dishes or hitting pause on your favorite show.

Get Adjusted!
Your nervous system is the master controller of every other system in your body. Chiropractic adjustments help remove interference so your body can function at its best. And when your nervous system is working well, every other healthy habit works even better!

Start small and stay consistent. These six basics are powerful tools to help you live a more energized, resilient, and vibrant life.
